How We Define Success on Your Wedding Day
Wedding Day Success is often measured by elements such as how beautiful the decor looks or how many guests show, but here at Lady of Decorum - Event Services we measure the success of our clients' weddings by measuring a few key objectives.
Completion of The Questionnaire
Success is an individualized definition. And it should be! When we take on a new client, one of the first metrics we use to ensure a successful wedding day are the details outlined on the Questionnaire. Not only is the questionnaire one of the most important initial touch points for us with our clients, but it also illustrates the vision for the event and gives us a sense of the client's personality, goals and expectations for the wedding.
What is the Questionnaire? The questionnaire is a list of questions sent to every client to gather more information about their Project. It can be reviewed and answered online, and we immediately use it to create a package suitable for their specific event and get an idea of the vision of the wedding.
When a client completes the questionnaire, we know right away that the client is ready to execute a successful event!
A Detailed Event Timeline & Visual Display Guide
We can’t stress enough the importance of designing a clear and descriptive Event Timeline and Visual Display Guide for your wedding. The two work together to establish the breakdown of the event. This is crucial to the success of your wedding day for many reasons. Before we touch on why it’s important to have these two documents ready prior to your event day, let me define what they are.
Let’s start with the Event Timeline. The Event Timeline is a day-of agenda for a Project that can be used by the Event Planner, the Day of Coordinator, the venue and the vendors alike. This file helps manage the time-specific logistics of the Project, keeping all of your contacts and vendors informed and prepared. Without it, your wedding could be a huge source of stress for not only you, but everyone involved.
The Visual Display Guide works hand and hand with the Event Timeline. As the Event Timeline details the day of agenda, the visual display guide illustrates how the visual elements of the event should look. For example, should the centerpieces on the tables include marbles and flowers, or just flowers? What table clothes should be used for the Sweetheart Table?
Not only is it a great idea to include the descriptions of the visual items, but it’s even better to have actual photos, especially if you hired a Day of Coordinator to ensure your timeline and décor is setup correctly.
The Bride & Groom are Enjoying their Day
When you think about why you choose to hire event staff, & a planner/Day of Coordinator, you did it because you want to enjoy your event and have a great time right?
It’s not because you want to spend energy ensuring the logistics of your day are monitored before, during and after the event. So, the last and most obvious way we measure success is how well you are enjoying your event.
And that does mean you have to give up control, but by the time we get to your special day, you will be assured that you and your event are in great hands!
If this all sounds like a recipe for success on your wedding day, contact Lady of Decorum today and get started in creating a successful wedding day by any measure.
