You’ve Hired Staff for Your Wedding, Now What?

Now that you have taken the leap and hired a dedicated team to help ensure a seamless wedding day, it’s time to prepare for your big day. In this article, I’m going to lay out 3 things you should be doing right now to prepare for your big day.

Make a list of the tasks needed

If you are a DIY bride, make this list (link task list) and give it to your Lady of Decorum Event Director. If you have a Wedding Planner, make a list with your Planner and during your introduction meeting with your Wedding Planner and Event Director, review the tasks together and create an Event Timeline. The Event Timeline will serve as a guide for the Staff Director who will ensues items are checked off the list for your big day allowing you to erase concern, and ensure you can trust things are being handled correctly.

Connect Your Event Director to your Wedding Planner/Coordinator.

If you have a Wedding Planner/Coordinator in place to manage the big and small planning duties, he/she will be the correct point person to connect to the Event Director in charge of the staff that will work your event. This will ensure that the communication between the two remains intact, even if you are not involved. This is particularly important in order for you to maintain focus on the most important things, like your fiancé, spending much needed time with family and friends, and not falling down the rabbit of hole of planning. That’s the job of the Wedding Planner.

Some great ways to introduce these key players is to setup a coffee date, or schedule a Skype meeting. It’s truly up to you how you do it, but add this task to your checklist now. It’ll save you time and headaches later.

Be Sure to Complete Your Client Questionnaire

The Client Questionnaire can be access through our client portal, here.

The Client Questionnaire is one of the most important documents we use in the initial phase of the booking process. Not only will you enter pertinent information, but we can get a feel for your personality and the personality of your event.

The Client Questionnaire will include details such as:

  • Your name

  • Company Name

  • Event Date

  • Event Location

  • Event Theme

  • Specific Tasks Requested

Once we receive the responses to these and other questions, we’ll have a solid baseline to begin putting together a proposal to suite your needs.  And really familiarize our staff with the priorities of your event.

If you completed this step early on, give yourself a pat on the back!

Now that you know the 3 things should do after booking with Lady of Decorum, you can breeze to your event with ease!
